OUR TEAM:

Richard Hughes (Managing Director) has 17 years’ experience of environmental management in the private sector. Since graduating from Cambridge University in Physics and Computing, Richard has spent most of his career working in the environmental field for Cambridge University, BP, and ERM. More recently he founded ecoVeritas (formally known as Propack Environmental). He has verified global carbon emissions sixteen times for major international companies including BP, General Utilities, GSK, Severn Trent, Cultor, Danisco and Kesko. He also assists companies to comply with the packaging waste regulations and has helped over 30 companies including John Lewis, House of Fraser, Harvey Nichols, Harrods and Selfridges. He has a broad understanding on CSR issues in business, in addition to being an expert in data modelling.

Rupert Alison (Senior Data Analyst) brings many years’ experience of modelling and data management. Since gaining an MA in Physics at Oxford University, he gathered 11 years’ experience of data collection and analysis within science departments at Oxford University, before coming to ecoVeritas as a technical data analyst.

Charles Henderson (Carbon Specialist and Lifecycle Analyst) brings over 10 years’ experience of working with carbon issues for businesses, the public sector and individuals. He combines technical experience of carbon footprinting and life cycle assessment with a track record in stimulating communication programmes on the climate change agenda. He founded CarbonNeutral Newcastle, and has developed wide-reaching climate campaigns, maximising the marketing and PR opportunities from low-carbon initiatives by businesses.

Mark Hughes (IT Manager) has developed Packman, the software we use both to calculate packaging obligations and perform our quality control. He is a professionally qualified database developer with sixteen years’ experience of working with mission critical financial applications in the City for companies such as Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi PLC (8 years), Atlantic Computer Group, Deloitte & Touche and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Samuel Hampton (Carbon Analyst) recently graduated with the top first-class degree in his subject from Oxford University. Having studied Geography, Sam has a passion for the environment and an analytical mind. Sam has experience in data collection and empirical based research, and received a prize for his dissertation. He has a passion for writing across academia and journalism and is the editor of an online journal.

Nicholas Warrick (Data Analyst) is a trained scientist, with an MSc and over 8 years’ experience of data management and analysis at the University of Oxford.

Jim Halsey (Statistical Advisor) also works as a Data Analyst at the Clinical Trials Service Unit at Oxford University, where his projects involve statistical analysis of data from randomized clinical trials in leukaemia and other diseases, as well as teaching statistics to medical students.
