E.U. compliance

The Producer Responsibility (Packaging Waste) Regulations in the United Kingdom are based on a series of E.U. Directives, and each member state has interpreted these directives in different ways.

Whereas in the UK the Regulations have led to the establishment of a free-market mechanism to support the recycling industry and achieve annual recovery targets, other E.U. countries typically set fixed levies on the recovery of packaging waste centrally.

Our European compliance services include:

  • Registration with respective overseeing authorities (e.g. the Environment Agency in the UK)
