Leading data collection services provider Ecoveritas will be represented at next month’s Environmental Packaging Summit by Commercial Manager Josh Corradi-Remi.
The two-day event, held at Coventry Building Society Arena on 2-3 November, will bring together packaging professionals from across the supply chain to discuss everything from material choice and innovation to government legislation and carbon reduction. The summit will debate and address the industry’s issues at such a critical juncture.
Corradi-Remi, who leads a stellar line-up of speakers, has over 15 years of experience within the environmental sector as a consultant and commercial lead on global extended producer responsibility and recyclability projects. He worked as a consultant at the most prominent UK EPR producer compliance scheme for 13 years, successfully helping international retailers and FMCG businesses comply with packaging regulations.
“Too often in debates about tackling the environmental impact of packaging, the discussion does not reflect the complexity and depth of the problems that need to be solved,” said Corradi-Remi. “For plastic packaging, the transition towards a more sustainable footing requires action on several fronts and chief among those is our willingness to operate within multiplying regulatory legislation.
“We have seen in recent weeks how nuanced the topic is and how complexity, awareness, and education have detrimentally impacted registrations for the Plastic Packaging Tax. With the long overdue revamp of 1997 Extended Producer Responsibility visible on the horizon, we must optimise the solutions presented to us and contribute to positive change for people and the planet.”
The summit aims to provide invaluable insight into the latest industry developments and debate the issues that are shaping the future of packaging.
